the natural history THE PEOPLE THAT I MEET
Direction, Effects and Editorial by The Wilderness
The Natural History, formed by brothers Max and Julian, sing the sincerities of living in a world where one encounters new faces every day and must cope with the reality that people come and go while one remains alone. Our overall concept revolved around the idea of time time and waiting. We tried to convey a sense of time passing while events stayed the same through the use of a hotel lobby. We designed and created our own "lobby" out of mirrored plexiglass and propped it with furniture and other objects reminiscent thereof. Through use of a constant pan we create a seamless and unified world that feels cohesive through our edits, layers and long cross-dissolves.
